Her love for caring and healing ignited during a challenging time in her life when her mother faced a battle with pancreatic cancer. It was the tireless efforts of the nurses who surrounded her mother with unwavering support that inspired Susan to pursue a career in nursing herself.
Leaving her hometown behind, Susan ventured to Virginia to pursue her college education. It was there that she laid the foundation for her career in the medical field. Over the years, her passion led her to specialize in emergency medicine, where she thrived in the high-pressure environment of the emergency room. Her ability to remain calm in the face of chaos and her quick decision-making skills made her an invaluable asset to the healthcare teams she worked with.
However, Susan’s journey took an unexpected turn about five years ago when she discovered the potential of ketamine infusion therapy. With her characteristic drive to explore new avenues of care, she began administering ketamine infusions in Virginia. This innovative approach to mental health treatment spoke to her desire to find holistic solutions that could alleviate suffering and improve patients’ lives.
Life brought more than just a fulfilling career into Susan’s world; it blessed her with a loving family as well. Susan is the proud mother of two grown boys, a testament to her nurturing spirit and dedication to those she cares for. Alongside her husband Frank, who has been her rock for three decades, Susan has built a life filled with love, commitment and shared dreams.
When she’s not wearing her nursing scrubs or spending quality time with her family, Susan finds solace in the company of her beloved dog, Bo. Her fondness for animals, particularly golden retrievers, has been a constant source of joy throughout her life. Whether she’s taking Bo for a walk, enjoying the warmth of the sun at the beach or perfecting her golf swing, Susan is invigorated by the outdoors and cherishes every moment spent amidst nature’s beauty.
Sports also hold a special place in Susan’s heart. Her enthusiasm for Notre Dame football, as well as her loyalty to the Patriots and the Red Sox, adds a touch of excitement to her life. These shared passions have likely led to spirited discussions and unforgettable moments with her friends and family, further strengthening the bonds that tie them together.
